PETER KIAZYK October 29, 1943 March 22, 2007 Unexpectedly on March 22, 2007, Peter was called to be with his Lord and Savior. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary; his children, Carol (Jeff), grandchildren, Cassandra, Eric, and Megan; Jonathan (Sandy); Joanne (Jess). Also mourning his loss are his sisters, Natalie (Real), Liz (Pete), and his brothers, Joe (Suzanne), Andy (Margo); and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Anne. Grandpa truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was looking forward to the arrival of his fourth grandchild. Throughout his working career in construction, Peter worked with numerous companies, including Dominion Bridge, Aktron, and Abesco. While working with Abesco, he was involved in a work-related accident which led to his return to school, where he completed a degree in structural technology. He then worked at Century Steel as a Project Manager, a job which he truly enjoyed. In 2003, Peter retired due to his illness. His last few winters were spent in Florida, and summers were spent with family and friends at his cabin at Gull Lake. We will cherish our memories of winter weekends snowmobiling, and summer weekends swimming and golfing. Prayers will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Ave. A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Monday, March 26, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 300 Donalda St. Special thanks to Armando, Michael, and Gene from home care, and to Diana and the ALS team at Deer Lodge for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3.
