ABRAM TEICHROB With his family at his side, Abram Teichrob, of Winnipeg, passed away from this earth to his new home in heaven on March 22, 2007. Abe was predeceased by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, four step-daughters, their husbands and children and many relatives and friends. Abe was born in the Ukraine on October 5, 1919. In 1925, together with his family, he emigrated to Canada settling near Altona, MB. Upon the profession of his faith, he was baptized on May 12, 1940. In 1935 the family moved to Winnipeg and continued to live there until his demise. Abe held a variety of jobs over the years including truck driver, school bus driver, cab driver, painter and maintenance with the River East School Division. Shortly after his retirement he met Charlotte Friesen and they were married in Winnipeg on December 30, 1988. In the early years of their marriage, they often travelled to British Columbia to visit family. In his spare time Abe enjoyed spending time in his workshop building birdhouses and doing odd jobs around the house and yard. Feeding the neighbourhood squirrels was part of his regular routine. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their compassion and care of Abe during the last two months. The funeral service for Abram Teichrob will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road, Winnipeg. Viewing will be a half hour prior to service. Reception to follow. Interment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gospel Mission, 320 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 3C7.
