JOHAN PETERS December 21, 1924 - March 20, 2007 Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, with his family by his side, Johan Peters passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Johan was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Isaac Peters, and his brother Isaac Peters. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Cayetana, and their children, Ismael (Lori), Anna (Bounsack) Peters, Betty Theissen, Judy Ruiz, John (Fatima); grandchildren, BJ, Eric, Keith, Amy (Ryan), Ashley, Julie (Henry) Thrift, Josh Theissen, Camilo, Carlos, Chris Ruiz, Nicolas, Hanna; great-grandchildren, Shaelyn and Noah Thrift; brother Bill Peters, and sister Elena Morales, numerous nieces and nephews. Johan came to Winnipeg in 1975 from Mexico. He worked as a machine operator at CML Northern Blower until his retirement. He loved working in his garden as well as his wood work. Johan was a hard working man, who took pride in everything he did. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and work ethic. Viewing will be held between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral service will also be held at the funeral chapel, 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 26. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks are extended to the St. Boniface Hospital staff, in particular Father Roland Lanoie, and Dr. Rush for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Johan to the CancerCare Manitoba.
