Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMABEL SIMCOE (nee CHODAK) Peacefully, on February 21, 2007, at her Vancouver residence, our Mom went to her eternal rest. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Naomi (Van); daughter Sylvia and son-in-law Victor (Winnipeg); one sister Sophie Evaskow (Brandon); brothers, Murray (Brandon), Michael (Yvette), Peter (Judy) of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1982; son Glenn in 1994; parents, Teena and Michael; sisters, Nell, Rose, Mary, Anne and brothers, Ed, Stan and Wes. Mom was born in the Shortdale, MB, area. At the age of 18 she obtained employment in McKenzie Island, ON, where she met our Dad. Shortly after their marriage they settled in Winnipeg. In October 2002, at the tender age of 77, Mom moved to Vancouver. With the loving attention of Naomi and homecare services she enjoyed her independence, puttering in her patio garden and walking Casey, her constant companion. Cremation has taken place. Interment is planned for early May in Winnipeg. Should friends desire, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Society, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, would be gratefully accepted.
