Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKURT SACHSE Kurt Richard Horst Sachse passed away peacefully at the age of 99 with family at his side on Thursday, March 22, 2007. Dad was born in Chemnitz, Germany on February 12, 1908 and arrived in Canada in 1930. He was the son of Karl and Anna Sachse. He had two brothers and three sisters who have all predeceased him. Dad worked for Dominion Tanners for 36 years. He married Jeanet Rokyta in 1935 and had four children. Dad's drive for perfection won him first prize when he entered his art work in a fair. All of his family display his art work in their homes. He was an excellent woodworker. He played the piano until his eyesight was too poor to continue. Dad believed he needed to stay active. He enjoyed walking and travelling and was an avid senior's league bowler. He was very proud that he had made it to 99. Health issues were only a factor for the past six months. Dad lived at Golden Links Lodge for the last three years of his life. He loved it there and was especially happy in spring and summer when he could go outside whenever he pleased. He was very fond of the staff and really felt at home there. Kurt is survived and will be missed by his three sons, Richard and wife Cornelia of Toronto, Armin and wife Kathryn of Courtney, and Kurt and wife Shane of Winnipeg; and his daughter Erna and husband Dick of Los Angeles. He has 14 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
