ERNEST JOHN (ERNIE) LOEPPKY 1924 - 2007 Sadly, we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Ernest John Loeppky, on Saturday, March 24, 2007, in Winnipeg. He leaves to cherish his memory wife Ella; sons, Jerome, Paul (Marie-Anne) and Patrick; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Christopher and Melissa; sister Theresa Villeneuve; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ernie was predeceased by one son Thomas in 1995; and his parents Ben and Cecilia. Ernie was born and raised in Gretna on March 12, 1924. He joined the army in 1944 and was overseas for one year. Upon his return, he married Ella and began working at Dominion Bridge until retirement. He so loved his family, and enjoyed many trips and sporting events with them. He was very active in his church and Men's Club. He was a friend to all. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Mass will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Avenue, with Father Shawn Cahill officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ernie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2.
