ANTONINA (TRINING) BERNALDO CLOSAS May 7, 1926 - March 22, 2007 Following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on March 22, 2007, at the age of 80 years. Antonina was predeceased by her husband Jose Closas Sr.; and her two sons, Rolando and Rizaldy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dominic (Rose), Clarita (Eddie) Justo, Penny Pineda, Jose Jr. (Oly), Chris (Edna), Danilo (Laila) of the Philippines, Raffy (Reggie) and Eddie (Clarinda); grandchildren, Jen (Donovan) Tomlinson, Roseleigh (Kelly) LeBleu, Ryan, Evangeline (Alex) Catli, Maria-Elena Aviles, Edwin (Reina) Justo, Evans (Jhoana) Justo, Connie (Joe) Vergel, Jason Pineda, Jolie-Anne (Brent) Horn, Jocelyn, Oliver, Jasmine, Edelvice, Christian, Christopher (Jenalie), Chester, Dennis (Rosalie), Donnie, Joel, Lailani, Diana, Kevin, Rochelle (Chris Pagdato), Randy (Grace Ortiz), Christine and A.J.; great-grandchildren, Thane and Trae Tomlinson, Keegan and Raeleigh LeBleu, Alexandrea and Alyson Catli, E.J. Aviles, Ivan Justo, Maenign Justo, Julian and Aria Vergel, Marc Santos, James Closas, Evanz and Faye Closas and C.J. Pagdato; along with numerous relatives and friends in Canada, the United States and the Philippines. Antonina was born and raised in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Philippines. She married Jose Sr. on May 31, 1947, and proudly raised 10 children. Accompanied by her husband and three children, she immigrated to Canada December 1980 to reunite with the rest of her family. Antonina enjoyed 10 years of service at Misericordia Hospital and found simple joy in gardening and sewing. She instilled a strong sense of family and tradition, loved unconditionally and knew how to make each member of her family feel special. She was also renowned for her stories and impeccable memory and those who had the pleasure of meeting her, instantly loved her. Her legacy includes her incredible circle of friends and family - she will be forever missed. Viewing/Lamay will take place on Thursday, March 29 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight and Friday, March 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 748 Keewatin St., with Msgr. Enrique Samson Jr. officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Brookside Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to the physicians and health care staff on the 3rd floor (U7/5) and 5th floor (U4) of Seven Oaks Hospital. Another thank you to the homecare staff - particularly Antoinette, who provided care for her while she was at home. WE LOVE YOU INANG/LOLA TRINING. YOU WILL BE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!
