TEKIANA SISETSKI (nee NOWOKOWSKI) On Saturday morning, March 24, 2007, at the Luther Home, my mother Tekiana passed away peacefully one week after her 97th birthday. Tekiana was born March 18, 1910, in Fish Creek, Saskatchewan, to Nicholas and Catherina Nowokowski. Tekiana will be missed by her only daughter, Shirley (John), daughters-in-law, Anne (Orest) and Ethel (Robert), four grandsons, four granddaughters, five great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. Her husband John and sons, Robert and Orest predeceased her. Mum and Dad married on October 10, 1926, at Cudworth, Saskatchewan. Mum lived a long, full life, raising a family through the trying times of the 1930s to 1970s in Saskatchewan and southern Ontario before retiring to Winnipeg in the 1970s. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Carol Burns of the Home Care Services of Winnipeg, Dr. Nepon and his staff, and her friends at the Luther Home, for their care of mother during her final days. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment at Holy Family Cemetery.
