REGINALD JOEL HADDAD On Monday, March 26, 2007, Reginald Joel Haddad, aged 71 years died due to post surgical complications at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg. Reg was the youngest child of Joseph and Margaret Haddad. He was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law John McAulay; son Bradley; brothers, George, Eddie, Mike and Gordon Haddad, George and Charlie Burrell, sisters, Margaret Robinson and Dorothy Parkin. Surviving are sisters, Agnes Bregg, Lillian Scotten, Alice Wagner and Audrey McRae; his wife of 47 years Muriel; children, Sandra (Jerry) Radford, Leslie (Elaine) Haddad, and Charmaine (Mark) Bilash; mother-in-law Mary McAulay; grandchildren, Stephen, Caitlin, Angela, Amy, Christian, William, Brittany, Stephen and many nieces and nephews and friends. Reg grew up in Winnipeg where he learned his apprenticeship as a machinist at Flyer Coach, building buses. He then worked for Midwest Diamond Drilling where he met his wife. His last job was doing maintenance at Red River Place Nursing, retiring in 1995. Reg lived in Thompson, Manitoba when it was a few tents set up in a clearing in the bush. In 1961 Clandeboye became his hometown. He was very active in the community, serving as Deputy Fire Chief for St. Andrews, on the Selkirk Hospital Board, the Clandeboye Community Club, and 4H. Reg's physical challenges did not stop him. Being a survivor of polio at age 3 left him walking with a limp and shortness of breath, yet he would be right there to help anyone. Beside his unconditional love for his family, he will be remembered for his love of Kubota tractors, buying cars and watching the western channel on TV and visiting with friends. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the Clandeboye United Church with Judy Limpright officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be all his friends. Flowers are gratefully declined. If people wish a donation can be made to the Clandeboye United Church or Clandeboye Community Club or a charity of their choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
