MARIA ELISABETH HANSSEN It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our beloved mother, Oma and Great Oma on March 26, 2007, at the age of 90 years. Mom was predeceased by her husband Matthew in 2000 and her daughter Cathy in 1995. Mom leaves behind her children, Gertrude, Fritz, Dorthea, Gerald, Andrew, Nellie, Henry, John, Jenny and Roy along with her 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Mom was born in Helden, Netherlands on October 3, 1916, and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951 where they settled in St. Andrews, Manitoba. Mom was a devout Catholic and mother who enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She loved playing cards, knitting and crocheting for her family and friends. A Prayer Vigil will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007, at 8:00 p.m. at St. Theresa's Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 3597 Main Street, with Msgr. Louis McCloskey officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.
