ARNIE HARBOUR Passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 28, 2007, at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 70 years. Survived by his loving wife Bev of 19 years and three children: Darcie (Errick), Michael, Jodi (Steve) and his stepson James; his grandchildren: Lauren, Leah, Jaden, Shamus and Jacob. Also survived by his sisters: Ivy (Reg) and Linda (Denis) and his brother David. Left to cherish his memory are his mother-in-law Anne; Bev's siblings, Jim, Grant (Carol) and Dale (Dave). He will also be greatly missed by his beloved and loyal dog Buckie. Arnie was born on November 19, 1936, in Winnipeg. He grew up in Norwood and lived most of his life in Winnipeg with the exception of three years in Toronto. The majority of his career was spent with Acklands Limited where he started at the age of 17 and retired in 1988 in Sales and Marketing. Arnie had a passion for sports; he actively participated in football, hockey and curling (PH Club). Arnie's other interests included; travelling, especially enjoying the many cruises he took with Bev. Two of Arnie's greatest life achievements included his participation in inducting the 1955 Winnipeg Rods into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and completing the Marketing Management Program at the University of Western Ontario. After Arnie's stroke in 1999, he was surrounded by numerous homecare workers who enabled him to stay at home for five years. The family would also like to mention the excellent care he received from Riverview Health Centre, Sharon Home and Meadowood Manor. Arnie looked forward to going to S.A.M. twice a week to be with his friends who gave him courage and support. Most importantly, it was his longtime loyal friends, of which there were many, who became his greatest medicine and we thank you for that. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Arnie's memory to The Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba (S.A.M.), B-247 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R2H 0G6. A memorial service celebrating Arnie's life will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.
