Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLARRY TARDIFF July 25, 1949 March 22, 2007 Suddenly, at the age of 57, after a long battle with heart disease. Larry was predeceased by his mother Jeanne; and leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Jill; his father Dollard; his brothers, Don and wife Yvonne, Ron and wife Ann; sisters, Dianne and husband Ken Trinkl, Rita and husband Gilles Vandal and Faye; mother-in-law Coye Wolstensroft; brothers-in-law, Ted Wolstencroft and wife Lori, Thom and wife Margaret; nieces and nephews, Denise Breen and husband David, Elliot, Tracy, Cameron, Raven, Randean and Nicholas, Lynlee and Jonathan, Chloe and Teagan; and great-niece Emma. Larry was born and raised in Winnipeg, and except for a short stay in Moose Jaw, called Winnipeg home for his entire life. Although he loved the country he never lived more than a 45 minute commute from his friends and family. His wife Jill was his true partner in every sense of the word and they shared an amazing bond of love and understanding. Larry was especially close to his baby sister Cricket and was a supportive and loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. Larry was composed of contradiction, fond of Shakespeare, he was published in Easy Rider magazine, a federal Reform Party candidate with a strong social conscience, a karate black belt who could quote show tunes and a hunter who rescued stray animals and people. Larry was involved in provincial politics and was a tireless advocate for personal rights and freedoms. He planned to extend his considerable intelligence and energy to education about the need for organ donors and the process of transplant. He will be remembered for his courage in the face of illness, his enthusiasm for and love of life, his laughter and quick wit and his fierce loyalty to and love for family. Jill would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Andrew Morris, Dr. Shelley Zieroth and Shari Barker R.N., of the St. Boniface Hospital Cardiac Sciences Heart Failure Transplant Clinic for their care of and concern for Larry. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Victoria Inn (Wellington Ball Room), 1808 Wellington (near the airport). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice, in care of Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7, or St. Boniface Hospital Heart Failure Transplant Clinic, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
