LOUIS ROBERTSON September 23, 1913 March 26, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lou Robertson at the Concordia Hospital on March 26, 2007. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Grace on January 23, 2006, to whom he was married for 59 years. Lou was born in Winnipeg and was employed by various companies before his retirement. He made many friends along the way working for CP Telegraph, Moores Taxi and Bus, Century Motors, Pembina Dodge, Marymound School, Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Assiniboine Credit Union, and the St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church. He met Grace during wartime when they were working with artillery shells at Dominion Bridge. Together they raised, loved and adopted many dogs. They all had a loving home with Lou and Grace. They both enjoyed their cabin at Star Lake for many years. Lou was a talented carpenter and woodworker and made wooden toys for a countless number of children. From his wooden cars and trucks to his doll swing sets, he has put a smile on so many children's faces that the smiles will never end, as they will be passed on to a next generation and a next. Many of us feel blessed to have such a treasure. Lou had a great sense of humour and was always ready for a good joke. He was a kind and generous man and would always think of others first. Left to cherish his memory are, his niece Janis (Phil) and children, Megan, Andrew, niece Lois (Harold) and children, Thomas, Robert, nephew John and family and sister-in-law Joan, cousin Tom (Meredith), nephew Gerald (Karen) and children, Corey and Matthew. He will also be missed by his good neighbours, Denis (Kristen) and children, Brittany, Kourtney, Larry (Kathryn), Andy (Irene), and good friends Lucy and George, Mary and Henry, Doris, Walter, Sr. Helene and many other friends and neighbours. Cremation has taken place and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier, with Brother Jorge Villegas O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lou's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
