VICTOR LAWRENCE HARLTON July 22, 1952 - March 26, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Victor Harlton. After a brief and courageously fought battle with cancer, Victor passed away peacefully on March 26, 2007 with his family by his side. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Chris (Boyko); daughters, Alison Harlton (Scott) and Madeline Chapman (Jason). He will also be greatly missed by brothers, Vincent and James (Teri); as well as brothers- and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Mitch), Jim (Sandra), Linda (Chuck), Ray (Wendy), Ron, Ted (Chris); as well as his nephews and nieces. Born in Winnipeg, Vic attended Tec-Voc High School and then Red River Community College to pursue a career as an electrician. Throughout his 35-year career, Vic's meticulous nature enabled him to excel in his trade, gaining the respect of his fellow IBEW 2085 union members. Vic loved his trade, not only because he was satisfied by a job well done - it also allowed him to travel the continent extensively, from the High Arctic to sunny California. Vic worked right up until the end, completing a job he had started even after his initial diagnosis. In addition to the dedication to his trade, Vic always made time for his family. The Harlton household was the setting for countless gatherings of family and friends and, whether you enjoyed a hearty laugh or had an intense conversation about golf, you always left happy and well fed. Vic was a member of Bel Acres Golf Course for many years; countless rounds were played with his brothers-in-law and golf buddies. A celebration of Victor's life will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., in Winnipeg, on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. A reception will follow. Honorary pallbearers will include the entire brethren of IBEW 2085. The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Dr. P. Harris, Dr. P. Kuegle and Dr. S. Ahmed, as well as the entire staff of the oncology clinic at Concordia Hospital. The family would also like to extend their deepest thanks to the nursing staff of 3 North for their empathy, compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Lung Cancer Foundation, 1896A Avenue Road, Toronto, Ontario (416) 785-2905. Vic, you enhanced our lives beyond measure; you will be sadly missed and forever remembered in our hearts. Family Owned and Operated Knysh Funeral Chapel 582-0973
