ALBERT SIDNEY STANLEY KING Peacefully at Oakview Place on April 1, 2007, Albert (Al) Sidney Stanley King, aged 86 years, of Winnipeg. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Sydney of Winnipeg; brother John; niece Jacqui; and sister-in-law Doris, all of England; and brothers-in-law, Herb of British Columbia and Kent of Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife Marion in 1989. Al was born in London, England, on September 15, 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Air Force and met his future wife Marion in Winnipeg while on leave from flight training in Carberry. After the war, he and Marion settled in Winnipeg. He was employed by AEI Telecommunications Ltd. (formerly Siemens) as a telephone installer. Al was an avid fisherman and cyclist in his earlier years and also enjoyed curling, soccer, photography and gardening. Sydney wishes to thank Dr. Ian Maharaj and the all staff of Oakview Place for the excellent care and compassion Al received while a resident. Special thanks also to Rita Kalma, longtime family friend, and to Rebeck Road neighbours Chris and Carl Peterson for their support over the years. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
