JEREMY JAMES FRY ( J.J. ) February 4, 1938 April 1, 2007 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Jeremy James Fry ( J.J. ) on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the Salvation Army Grace Hospice, Winnipeg, at the age of 69 years. Remaining to forever cherish J.J's memory are his sister-in-law Elisabeth Fry and her children, Simon, Mandy, Maya (Fracesca, Satchel), Tim (Deanne, Dylan) and Zoe; close cousin Quentin Whitehouse and wife Kathy (Sarah and Aaron) of New Zealand; also Steven (Lynn) Whitehouse of the U.K; his Toronto friends, Jon Klein (Christine), Lloyd Weber, Don Parkinson (Gwynne), Cam Hasselman (Karen); many loyal friends from the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs; and Winnipeg neighbours whose many visits brightened Jeremy's last days. Son of the late Harold and Mavis Fry, Jeremy was predeceased by his brother David Fry; and sister Susan; and by the love of his life, his wife Patricia (Trish) Fry. J.J. began his civil service career with the United Nations in Cyprus after graduation from the University of Toronto and Cardiff University in Wales. Subsequently he joined the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs and saw service in BC, Alberta and Manitoba. He was an avid birdwatcher, dog lover (Jock and Jill) and conservationist to Save the Elms with the Wolseley Tree Banding Group in Winnipeg. Memorials in Winnipeg and Toronto are to be announced. Many thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Grace Hospice for their loving care of J.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 3R5.
