ALLEN HERBERT GREEN It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our much loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Allen, on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 94. Remaining to celebrate his life are his wife of 72 years, Gladys; daughter Mary (Emil) Dufrat; son Gerry (Johanna); grandchildren, Darrel, Brian (Janet), Lori, Christopher, Patrick (Shayla), Shannon (Richard); great-grandchildren, Megan and Jessica, Matthew and Brayden, Kennedy, and Evan. Allen was born in Valparaiso, Saskatchewan on February 1, 1913. He and his family resided in Saskatchewan until 1956, when they moved to Winnipeg. For most of his career, he worked as a buyer in the forage seed industry. One of his favourite pastimes was gardening. Dad was a warm, loving, caring family man. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment to follow. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. J. Horvath and Dr. Wowk-Litwin, as well as the excellent staff at the Victoria Hospital, for their wonderful care during Dad's illness.
