LIANA LEIGH MENZIES March 7, 1965 April 4, 2007 Liana passed away peacefully in the night of April 4, 2007 after an unexpected short illness. She is survived by her partner of 16 years, David Keith Wright, his sons, David and Nick, her mother S. June Menzies, sister Rebecca and brother David and Char, niece Mackenzie and nephew Cameron. She also leaves behind a host of friends many of whom she knew for her entire life. She was a natural leader in her community, always willing and able to organize efforts for the benefit of her neighbourhood. Liana was known to all as a highly principled and loyal friend, with a special gift for empathy. Her caring nature gave her the ability to feel the happiness and pain of others in a way that very few of us can. For Liana, this was at times both a blessing and a burden. She was predeceased by her father Merril Warren Menzies, whose death affected her so deeply. A celebration of life to commemorate both Liana, and her father, Merril will be held at Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Ave, on Wednesday, April 11, viewing to begin at 1:00 p.m., with the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. A reception at the church will follow.
