Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTELLA (STANISLAWA) RYMARCZUK (nee MACHNIAK) On Good Friday, April 6, 2007 at St. Joseph's Residence, at the age of 87 years, we announce the peaceful passing of a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Stella, as she was taken by the Lord. She will be remembered by her son Henry (Danuta); grandchildren, Teresa (Mario), Barbara (Chris), Paul (Shalla); great-grandsons, Matteo and Milan; and family in Canada, United States and Poland. Stella was preceded by her loving husband John (Jan), who passed away December 8, 2003 on their 55th wedding anniversary. Stella was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Stella was born in Zdary, Poland on July 25, 1919. In the winter of 1940, she was forced from her home in Poland to the labour camps in Siberia, Russia: then to a British-sponsored camp in Tanganyika, Africa. After the war in England, she met her loving husband and wed in 1948. They both immigrated to Canada in 1954 with their young son. After spending some difficult times in the logging camp of Camp Robinson 200, in N.W. Ontario, they moved to Winnipeg and became active members of the Holy Ghost Parish and the Polish Combatants Association (SPK). They lived, prospered and praised the virtues of Canada. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 11, at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father as celebrant. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Seven Oaks, Misericordia and St. Josephs, for the care and support they provided for Stella.
