RUPERT ROSS It is with sadness that we announce the death of Rupert Ross, aged 91, at Riverview Health Centre on Friday, April 6, 2007. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 64 years, son Lorne (Laurie), daughter Elizabeth and grandchildren, Alison and Geoffrey Leathwood. Rupert was born in Prince Rupert, BC, on November 24, 1915. He graduated from U.B.C. as a Chemical Engineer in 1937, worked in Bahrain for several years then served two and a half years in the R.C.N.V.R. as an Engineer Officer on various ships on the Atlantic and overseas. After the Second World War, he worked in the pulp and paper industry in Pont Rouge, QC, Ottawa, ON, Montreal, QC and finally Winnipeg, MB where he retired in 1981. During his retirement, he devoted himself to many volunteer activities. He completed five overseas assignments for Canadian Executive Services Overseas, offering his experience and knowledge to small companies in Kenya, Sri Lanka, India, Nicaragua and Peru. When at home, he was a faithful deliverer of Meals on Wheels for many, many years. Rupert had been a devoted member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, serving in many capacities at parish and diocesan levels. There will be a service to celebrate his life at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 755 Elm Street, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Riverview Health Centre (3 East Wing) for their loving care and concern.
