He is survived by sons, Chester (Kama), Guy (Judy) and Darrell (Elaine); daughters, Collette (Tony), Sherry (Brent), Susan (Garth) and Noreen (Ron); grandchildren, Aimee, Carrie, Colleen, Lisa, David, Kaitlin, Jesse, Nathan, Nicole, Teresa, Myles, Mylen, Kale, Michael, Tyler, Harry, George, Ryan, Sara, Victoria, Erika and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Amy and Hailey; brothers, Ken and Dennis; sisters, Valey, Phyllis, Lorna and Evelyn; and special friend Louise and her family Dave, Nicole, Cassidy, Troy and Lisa. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Reta; brothers, Earl and George; sisters, Grace and Susan; and parents Peter and Mary. Dad was born in Traverse Bay, MB, and raised in Pine Falls at Parisian Point. After graduating high school, Dad then met the love of his life Reta Hampton from Victoria Beach. Dad went on to pursue a millwright apprenticeship. Dad led a life full of love and music. By the age of 29 years, he and Reta had a family of three boys and four girls. Dad's loves in his life were his wife, family and music. His love for music was always surpassed by his love for his family. Papa always had kids at the house. He raised all his grandkids in the most loving atmosphere. There was always plenty of good food, good loving and good music at Papa and Grandma's house. His music meant the world to him and he made some very special friends: Gary Anuik, Norbert Guimond, Danny Polischuk and many, many others. We're so proud of you, Dad, for your very courageous fight. You were so strong for all of us. Thanks for being so brave. We know it was only because you knew you were going to soon be with Mom. So long and thanks for being the best Dad and Papa any kid could ask for. A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Falls United Church with Rev. John Robertson officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in his memory may be made to Pine Falls Palliative Care, in care of North Eastman Health Association, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
