CHARLOTTE JONINA KRISTJANSON Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Lions Place in Winnipeg at the age of 86 years. She was born July 18, 1920 in Lundar, Manitoba, the daughter of Sigtryggur and Kristin Kristjanson (Helgadottir). She lived in Gimli until 1930 when her mother and two sisters took a ship to England and then to Iceland. In 1948, she came back to Gimli then got a job at Eatons in Winnipeg, where she met Hannes. Charlotte married Hannes Brynjolfur Bjornson on June 21, 1982. She lived at Lions Place for 22 years, a place she insisted on staying until the last day. She was a free spirit. Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, her husband and three brothers, Gudmundur (Mundi) Kristjanson, Olafur (Oli) Kristjanson, Bjorn Hafstein of Saskatoon; two sisters, Sigridur (Hulda) Kristjanson and Osk Kristjanson of Iceland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, with Fr. Art Seaman officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the Gimli Community Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Fred Anderson, Baldur Nelson, Barny Johnson and Gunnar Kristjanson.
