Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELSON ALVIN FLETCHER June 2, 1911 April 8, 2007 On Easter Sunday at the Carman Memorial Hospital, with his family at his side, Nelson went to his eternal rest. He was predeceased by his wife Jean, brother Donald and son-in-law Alvin Anderson. Left to mourn his passing is his loving family: daughter Carole Anderson, grandson Kent (Monique), great-grandchildren, Riley, Cory, granddaughter Lana (Scott), great-grandchildren, Dana, Mark, Tiana, granddaughter Marni (Gerald), great-grandchildren, Cody, Shawn, grandson Darryl (Karen), great-grandson Bryce, daughter Florence Fletcher, daughter Shirley Fletcher (Peter), grandson Jason (Sally), great-granddaughter Amelie, grandchildren, Kelli (Pat), Lynn (Damien), son Neil (Cheryl), grandson John (Charlene), great-grandchildren, Justin, Kiera, Andrew, Brandon, granddaughter Colleen (Dan), grandson Danny (Chancie), great-grandchildren, Sydney, Medah, granddaughter Memory, great-grandchildren, Caleb, Emelia, grandson Larry, son Wally, granddaughter Pamela (Rick), great-grandson Tristin, grandson Jackson (Susie) and sister-in-law Vernice Fletcher. Nelson was born and raised in Westbourne, Manitoba. He married Jean on November 25, 1937, and together they raised their children on the farm. Nelson loved animals, especially horses and dogs. He was good at sports, baseball, hockey and curling. Mom and Dad loved square dancing and travelling. He was an avid gardener who always grew enough produce to feed others. After Mom died in 1999, Dad stayed alone on the farm with his two dogs. In 2003 he moved to Carman. First he lived in Parkview Manor and later he moved to the Boyne Lodge. Dad made many friends in Carman. It was at the Boyne Lodge that he realized he could step dance. He always enjoyed coming back to the farm to see his dogs and visit with family. Funeral service will be held in the St. Mary's Anglican Church on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with the Venerable Norman Collier officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Westbourne Cemetery. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Courtyard, Box 910, Carman, Manitoba R0G 0J0.
