SIMONE BERNIER (nee DUFAULT) Peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, Simone passed away at the age of 73 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her son Marc and his wife Alma; and three stepgrandchildren, Meagan, Keenan and Gerd. Simone was predeceased by her husband Dr. Louis Bernier in 1983. The eighth child in a family of 14, Simone was predeceased by her parents, Charles Dufault in 1974 and Eva Lamontagne in 1973; her brothers, Paul in 1942, Gérard in 1988, René in 2003; her sisters, Rhéa Lacroix in 1999 and Marguerite in 2002. She is survived by five sisters, Rina (Roméo) Blanchette, Thérèse (Roméo) Richard, Ida (Sister Marie Charles), Marcelle (Antoine) Fréchette and Yvette (Robert) Tytgat; three brothers, Charles-Henri (Lucille Prince), Roland (Cécile Beaulieu) and Paul. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St-Eugene Church, 1007 St. Mary's Road, on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Simone will be laid to rest in the Saint-Boniface Cemetery, at a later date.
