WILLIAM (TUD) WARREN Suddenly, on April 5, 2007, at the Grace Hospital, Tud passed away at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife Lena of 60 years; daughter Roma (Dallas); son Gordon; son-in-law Hector; grandchildren, Rhonda, Scott (Dana), Randy, Kyla, Lisa and Justin; great-granddaughter Kaitlyn. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Fingland; and sisters-in-law, Pearl Bain (Ross-Shire Scotland), Ann Stirling (Bathgate Scotland) and Jessie Currie (Calgary); and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Gordon (killed in action in the Second World War), Graeme; and sister Shirlie. He was recently predeceased by his daughter Avril in October 2006. Tud was born in Brandon on January 16, 1921. At the age of five, his family moved to St. James where he resided the rest of his life. He served all over Europe with the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders during the Second World War, returning home at the end of the war. Tud and Lena were married on April 5, 1947. He was a longtime employee of Domtar Packaging, retiring in 1986. Tud thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and he and Lena could be seen out and about every day. He spent good times in his backyard barbecuing and having lots of laughs with family and friends. Tud declined in health after cardiac arrest in 1998 and was later diagnosed with dementia. Mum was his sole caregiver until he passed away. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the City of Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service for their efforts. At Tud's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6.
