ALLAN ROY CLARKE Allan Roy Clarke passed away on April 5, 2007. He will be greatly missed by his wife Jackie, his brother Doug (Aileen) and nieces, Erinn and Susan (Mark and Meghan). He was born on January 17, 1938, in Winnipeg. He attended Isaac Brock, St. James Collegiate, and received his BA at the University of Winnipeg. He moved to Vancouver in 1971 to head Eaton's Catalogue. When it closed, he went to Taymor Industries, leaving there to open his own business, Pacific Surplus Ltd. He made many friends over the years, and because of his white hair and beard, got the nickname old guy Al . He retired in 1998 and became passionately involved in genealogical research, sharing his findings with newly discovered cousins all over North America, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia. His many cousins will miss his spirited, humorous and often witty correspondence. He also volunteered as a driver with the Wildlife Rescue Association, transporting orphaned and injured birds and small mammals all over the lower mainland. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He requested that there be no formal service. There will be an outdoor celebration at a later date.
