ROD WAYNE THIESSEN An angel came down from heaven and embraced Rod's terribly tired body and soul, carried him and placed him in his dad's (2006) sweet gentle arms on April 5, 2007 at the age of 49. Rod will once again be free of constant enduring pain and stress, and be entertained by the antics of Shawnie (2007). Rod enjoyed his summers out at the lake, camping, hiking, boating, sitting around the fire with his family and friends. Rod was a true football fan; AFL, CFL, NFL, College Ball, Fort Garry Lions, and a true Blue Bomber fan since a very young age. He was also a Nascar fan. Rod's family meant everything to him, gathering with extended members whatever the occasion, he always enjoyed the fellowship. He will be missed by his sons especially when it comes to water skiing, tubing, kneeboarding, and their new venture, motorbiking, as well as their old venture horsing around, playing cards. Rod was a loyal employee to the Petroleum Service Industry for 29 years. Along the way he made many friends and trusting customers who would specifically ask for him to service their pumps. The dedication and value he placed on his work went beyond measure. Rod, we mourn your passing terribly, mom Annie, sisters, Loretta (Tom), Gloria (Bill), and Pauline (Chuck), brothers, Victor and Dwayne, your two sons, Nolan and Miles, Iris (wife), many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, close friends and neighbours. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. Thank you to Dr. S. Eng, and Dr. John Toth. John your sincere kindness, caring and support for Rod and his family, comforts us beyond measure. Flowers are gratefully declined. Family and friends may make a donation to Anxiety Disorders of Manitoba or the Humane Society in Rod's name.
