She was predeceased by her husband Harry; her parents Harry and Maude Johnson; stepmother Hilda Johnson; brothers, Jack and Richard (Dick); sister Georgina (Jensen); brothers-in-law, Darcy Button and Larry Jensen; and daughter-in-law Eleanor (Ferguson). Left to cherish her memory are her children, Arthur (Derby), Denis and Wendy (Ted) Henderson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Roxanne (Garry) Stein, Michele and Gregeroy, Lori (Garry) Dunkinson, Amanda and Christine, Michel Derbyshire, Kevin (Megan) Malaschuk and Karli and Craig (Tammy) Malaschuk. She is also survived by sisters, Norma Button, Madge (Ed) Pfrimmer; brother Jim; and sister-in-law Betty Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Edith and Harry were married at St. Anne's Church in West Kildonan in 1936 and remained in West K. for the rest of their lives. Edith was a stay-at-home mom who loved to knit, sew and take care of the family. At Edith's request, cremation has taken place and a family burial will take place at a later date. Wendy and Ted would like to thank all the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for the love and care they gave not only to the residents but family as well. There are no words to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff on Evergreen Unit especially Brenda, Alex, Maryanne, Gina and Renata - you are all truly angels. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
