MICHAEL JAMES WEBB November 30, 1989 April 10, 2007 It is with profound grief and sadness we announce the untimely passing of our beloved son and brother, Michael Webb, on Tuesday, April 10 at the age of 17. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Barry and Michele, sisters, Stephanie and Allison. He will be missed by grandparents, Grace Webb, Laurette Marinelli and Richard Marinelli (Doreen), uncles, Denis (Kim), Christopher (Julie), Bob (Karen) and cousins, Amanda, Karly, Courtney, Denae, Liane and Alexa. Michael was a gentle soul. Although soft spoken in nature, he had a large presence with a great sense of humour. He had an impish smile and a twinkle in his eye. Michael was extremely family oriented, enjoying Sunday suppers at Mere's, watching movies with sisters, teasing his mom and playing pool with his uncles and grandpa. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends listening to music, throwing darts and playing poker. Sports and outdoor activities were very important in his life. Michael loved playing soccer and was planning to continue playing as an adult. He was looking forward to golfing with Uncle Bob. Michael enjoyed spending time at his uncle's cottage at Betula Lake. He enjoyed Moose and Goldeyes games, camping and War of 1812 re-enactments with his dad. He was the youngest of three children, but was extremely protective and watchful over his two older sisters. He was a very responsible and hard working young man who took pride in his accomplishments. Throughout his illness he was determined to keep up with his studies and remained on the Honour Roll. Michael was a student at Dakota Collegiate and would have graduated this June. His plans were to become an accountant. Michael fought a long, courageous battle but never gave up hope. He never complained. He always put everyone else's needs and feelings ahead of his own. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Children's Hospital and to Dr. Pat McCusker and the Pediatric Oncology Team for the wonderful care and support they provided Michael. A special thanks to Cathy Bourne for her extraordinary care for Michael and support to our family. The incredible staff of CK5 always made sure that Michael was comfortable and provided him with his favourite room, greatly appreciated. A service will take place on Wednesday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Children's Wish Foundation. Michael you fought very hard. Papa is waiting. We love you and are very proud of you. Sleep soundly sweetheart.
