NESTOR (NES) DUDAR With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad and Poppy on April 10, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Flo; sons, Dale (Judy) and Wayne (Cindy); grandchildren, Karly, Kyle and Tyler; sisters-in-law, Freda, Jean, Julie (Don) Diakiw, as well as nieces and nephews. Nes was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Barbara; stepfather Jacob Gurski; brothers, Joe, Walter; stepbrother Julian. Dad was born July 10, 1933 and grew up in north Winnipeg. He started working at the CPR for a few years, then in 1957 began his career with the City of Winnipeg Fire Department where he proudly served 35 ½ years of service. Retiring a respected Captain in 1993, a proud achievement celebrated with his family. Through Dad's years he enjoyed curling with the City of Winnipeg Firefighters and Arlington Curling Club. He was also a member at Bel Acres Golf Club for over 35 years. He looked forward to playing Ten Pin Bowling with his friends for St. John Cantius Sunday Bowling. After Dad's retirement, Dad and Mom enjoyed travelling together, spending time with family at both son's cottages in Moosehorn and Steep Rock, MB Dad always loved to visit and socialize with friends and acquaintances, especially his buddies at the coffee clutch. Mom and Dad celebrated 54 years of commitment, passion and never-ending love! Passing on the importance of family, love and life to his grandchildren and to us was his greatest achievement, and he was proud of his family. We will miss his conversations with us, the stories, watching Saturday night hockey, his helping hand at every turn, sitting on the deck at the beach talking and eating and Mom making him his favourite meals, but most of all we will love and miss him dearly. A gentle, kind loving soul. Forever he will be missed. To Nes, his family was his world His home was his castle A sincere thank you to all family, friends and firefighters who visited or kept in touch with him during his illness. We truly appreciate your gesture of kindness and support. The family extends gratitude to Dr. Patel, the nurses and medical staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, as well as the CancerCare volunteer drivers. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service held. If so desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Firefighters Burn Fund or CancerCare Manitoba.
