W. EVERETT DAVIDSON It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father on April 10, 2007. He was predeceased by Gwen, his wife of 53 years. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his daughters, Shauna (David), Janis (Ken) and Colleen; his grandchildren, Andrea (Michael), Darrell (Aynsley), Clint (Becky) and Adam; his nieces and nephews. Born on November 21, 1921, near Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Dad was raised in the Manitou area. After serving in the Royal Canadian Artillery in Europe during the Second World War, he married Gwendolyn Schwalm and established a home and family. His employment career with Canada Post spanned 33 years with service as Postmaster in Manitou and Neepawa. He retired in 1980 from the Winnipeg Regional Personnel Office. He participated in the life and work of the Kinsmen Club, served as secretary to the Manitou branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a member of The United Church of Canada. Most important to Dad was his family. He was a devoted husband and father, whose love was unconditional. Mom and Dad enjoyed many years of square and round dancing. They cherished the times spent with family and friends at their trailer on Netly Creek. Dad was a handyman, fixing and modifying things in our homes, trailers and cars. In recent years his favourite pastimes included reading, watching curling bonspiels and Grey Cup games as well as playing cribbage with anybody. A service to celebrate Dad's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2007, at Westworth United Church, Grosvenor at Lanark St., with Rev. J. Clark Saunders officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Dad's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or to the Westworth United Church Memorial Fund, 1750 Grosvenor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3N 0H9.
