IDALIA ALEGRIA (ZELAYA) May 18, 1930 - April 12, 2007 It is with great sorrow, but great love and wonderful memories that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt Idalia Alegria, peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, April 12, 2007. She will be greatly missed by her children, Norman (Marcia), Soraya (Roger); nephews, Romeo Zapata (Silvia), German Pastora (Michelle); niece Dania Collette (Herve); and all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the rest of the family back in our home country, Nicaragua. Idalia was predeceased by her husband Alfredo; daughter Sandra; her parents and all of her brothers and sister. Idalia and her husband moved to Canada from Nicaragua in 1987 to join their children and their families who had already made home and were part of the community here in Winnipeg. She was born in Jinotega, Nicaragua, On May 18, 1930. She was the second youngest of seven children and grew up in the northern town of Yali. She studied education and later graduated with her teaching diploma and moved to San Rafael del Norte, Jinotega, where she raised her three children along with her one and only love and husband, Alfredo Alegria. The family wishes to thank the staff at HSC, the doctors, nurses and all the wonderful people who helped us to care for her during her hospital stay in GB3 (wing). We would also like to extend a special thanks to all persons who demonstrated care through flowers she received, and we are very grateful for all the visitors and friends that came to visit her. She enjoyed writing a great deal and also reciting poetry. The family would like to share with all one of her writings: Cuando llegue el final de mis dias considerarĂ© que habrĂ© malgastado mi existencia, si detrĂ¡s de mi solo puedo ver, cosas materiales que no nos puede veneficiar, y amigos de poco valer, si no puedo ver Una familia estable y amorosa. In compliance with Idalia's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. Que descanse en paz
