FELICIDAD (FELY) BALMES Peacefully, surrounded by family, Mrs. Felicidad Balmes passed away at 6:23 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007. At the age of 71, she lost a long battle with cancer. Beloved wife of 34 years of Mr. Leopoldo Balmes; loving mother and mother-in-law of five children: Ely (Rene), Jen (Deo), Boy (Lerry), Vicky (Neil) and Ferdie (Aga). She will forever be remembered by her 13 grandchildren; from Canada: John, Chuckie, Jennifer-Grace, Ser-Jordan, Joanne and Dianne, and from the Philippines: Jazper, Juvigail, Jervie, Maan, Jerin, Jorem, and Paolo. She will be dearly missed by her two brothers Wenceslao and Eron Santiago; brothers-in-law Gregorio (Maring) and Nicanor; sisters-in-law Rufina, Isabel (Agaton), and Marciana. She will also be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives here in Winnipeg and in the Philippines. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of her Home Care caregivers and nurses, especially to Palliative nurse Maryanne. Viewing (Lamay) will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 and Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., with prayers both nights at 8:30 p.m. by Father Rebillaco. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Parish, 264 Donwood Drive with Father Rebillaco officiating.
