WALTER BURKOWSKI Walter was born February 28, 1943 at home in Roseau River, MB. He passed away April 13, 2007 at Vista Park Lodge, Winnipeg at the age of 64. Left to cherish his memory are his best friend Kim Riel; sisters, Jean (Nick) Chubey and Eileen Pott; niece Darlene (Blake) Metcalf; two nephews, Jeffery Chubey and Garry Pott; two great-nephews, Evan Pott and Cody Metcalf. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary Burkowski and grandparents, Teodor and Anestasia Wiwchar. His biggest enjoyment was to play his guitar and fiddle at weddings and sing. He was very good at it. He was diabetic since the age of 14 and lost both legs about seven years ago. He purchased a scooter which helped him be independent. He liked to fix cars; it seemed like there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. The family would like to thank the staff of Vista Park Lodge for the care they provided. May he rest in peace. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Wednesday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at the Rosa Catholic Cemetery.
