WALTER VALENTINE WALASHEK SR. On April 13, 2007, at Grace Hospital, Walter, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at the age of 62 years. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bernadette; son Walter Jr. (Tammy), daughter Geraldine, sons, David, Jeffrey (Leah); grandchildren, Christopher, Cora, Matthew, Jonathan, Emma and Julie. He also leaves to mourn his passing mother-in-law Muriel VanCaeseele; sisters, Audrey Chymy, Jennie Roy-Zayik (Fred), brother John Walashek (Virginia) and sister Augustine Ziffle (Larry). He also leaves to mourn numerous family members and friends. Walter was predeceased by his parents, John and Millie Walashek and his father-in-law George VanCaeseele. Walter was born in Winnipeg on April 6, 1945. He lived and worked on the family farm in Fisher Branch until the age of 18, at which time he moved to Winnipeg, met his wife and joined the Winnipeg Police Force. After numerous moves he settled in St. Andrews to live and raise his growing family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Selkirk General Hospital/Health Sciences Centre and Grace Hospital for all the care they gave him and all the support they showed his family. Prayers will be said on Monday, April 16 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Little Britain. Pallbearers are Christopher Walashek, Matthew Walashek, Calvin Chymy, James Roy, Corey Bainard, Chris Fisher, Aaron VanCaeseele and Wes Kletke. Honourary Pallbearers are Cora Walashek and Jonathan Walashek. If friends so desire, donations may be made Walter's memory to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
