Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA MOLINSKI (nee PETTERSON) 1908-2007 The family sadly announces the passing of our cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother who passed away April 13, 2007 at Kin Place Personal Care Home, Oakbank, MB, at the age of 98. Mother was born in Lac du Bonnet, MB on October 6, 1908, daughter of Oscar and Karen Petterson. She leaves to mourn son Lorne (Sharron); grandchildren, Brenda (Larry), Cindy, Jeffrey (Tavona); step-grandchildren, Randy (Tracey), Wesley (Melissa), Douglas (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Jody (Martha), Tamara, Dale (Laura), Travis, Aimee, Brendan, Dawson, Randine, Morgan, Ryan, Tanner, Maya, Noah and Cole and six great-great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband John in 1990 and parents, Oscar and Karen Petterson. Mother received her schooling and Teachers Certificate from Wesley College, becoming Principal of the Brokenhead school from 1931 -1933. After marriage they purchased a pool room in Beausejour, MB which they operated for three years. Then came the extension of the Trans Canada Highway from Rennie to the Ontario border so they moved to West Hawk Lake, lived in a tent and Dad worked on the building of the Highway. In 1939 they moved to Whitemouth, MB and built a chip stand on this highway. Later it became a restaurant and service station known as Johnnies Place . Here she baked, cooked and served the public for the next 40 years until a fire destroyed their home and business in 1979. In 1950 Mom was appointed Provincial County Court Clerk. Her other work involved taking Census, Provincial and Federal Enumerator for many years. Mother was an active member in the community and curling clubs. She was a founding member, a Secretary of the Whitemouth Seniors Happy Hours group and President 1984 - 1986. Also a founding member of the Three Rivers Council in East-Man., serving on executive 1987 - 1988 and Secretary in 1991. In 2001 she took up residence in Sunrise Lodge, Anola and moved to Kin Place, Oakbank, MB, in 2003. Her coffee pot was always on for whomever stopped by. Mother loved to cook and travel and spend time at her cottage, but most of all, spending time with her family. Her trip to Alaska was a memorable one. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the caring staff at Kin Place in Oakbank, MB. Their kindness and compassion is deeply appreciated. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB with Rev. John Robertson officiating. A private family interment will be held. Pallbearers will be Jody, Dale and Travis Klapprat, Randy and Douglas Baker and Don Steiner.
