Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN (AL) VICTOR DRYDEN Peacefully, on Saturday, April 14, 2007, with his loving family by his side, Al passed away at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 80, after a ten year struggle with Alzheimer's. Al is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce; sons, Rick (Judy), Rob (Janice), Ken (Debbie); grandchildren, Cindy, Debbie, Vicki, Jaclyn, Robyn, Scott and Johnathan; brother Ken; sister Marion (Bert), as well as numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Marian. Al was born in Winnipeg, growing up in Norwood. He attended the University of Manitoba, graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture in the class of 1949. After graduation, Al joined Canada Packers, working in various management positions throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The majority of Al's career was spent with C.P.'s Shur-Gain Feed from which he retired in Winnipeg, as General Manager, Manitoba Division in October 1987. In 1950 Al met Joyce in Brandon. During their 55 years of marriage they enjoyed raising their sons, travelling, badminton at the Wildewood Club, golf, summers at Victoria Beach and family gatherings. Al and Joyce spent many summers at Victoria Beach, at the original Dryden family cottage and later enjoying their grandchildren at their own cottage. The family would like to thank Al's home care workers and the staff at Riverview (3D) for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20 at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4 or to a charity of one's choice.
