MARIA HIEBERT It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maria Hiebert. She is survived by her loving husband Peter Hiebert; Neta and Jacob Sawatzky, Abe and Lena Hiebert, Martin and Wilma Hiebert, George and Martha Hiebert, Tony and Shirley Hiebert, Helga and Dwight Hoeppner, Lori and Terry Wiebe, Helen, John, Trudy, Neil and Jake. Along with her 12 surviving children, she leaves behind 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Maria was born April 26, 1924 and passed away peacefully with family and caregivers at her side on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Misericordia Health Centre. Maria was born in Altona, Manitoba but moved to Paraguay, South America where she reared and nourished her children with sustaining faith and works of kindness. She will be sorely missed by many friends and acquaintances; both locally and abroad. Maria trusted in the strength and guidance she experienced through her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and He has been the light along her path of life. This expression of faith lived has been a lesson we all cherish in Maria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay, Winnipeg with viewing prior to the service.
