PHYLLIS BRISCO September 6, 1924 - April 13, 2007 It is with profound sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Phyllis Brisco on Friday, April 13, 2007 at Beacon Hill Lodge. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Earl; parents, Thomas and Carrie Mayes; sisters, Catherine and Beanna; brothers, Wallace and Walme. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Ervin) Mitchell, Megan Brisco; three grandchildren, Robert Donaldson, Regan Mitchell, Ryon Mitchell; plus five great-grandchildren, Amber Benjamin, Jordan-Quinn Mitchell, Irish Mitchell-Friesen, Joshua Aitkenhead, Christian Donaldson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom was born in North Battleford, SK and moved to Winnipeg after she completed high school. She resided in East Kildonan raising her two children while working several jobs. Mom became employed with the River East School Division in 1969, primarily at Polson School, retiring in 1988. This allowed her to embark upon her real passion, enjoying her free time with the grandchildren and eventually, great-grandchildren. Mom's relationship with them kept her young and active. However, in the last decade, Alzheimers diminished her ability to enjoy life. Our thanks is extended to the staff on the 7th and 5th floors at Beacon Hill Lodge for their care and devotion to our mother during the last four years. Viewing will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Green Acres, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Road. Funeral services will commence at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Milton Chambers. Pallbearers will be Carl Tynes, Evan Tynes, Bobby Jamerson, Dave Loewen Sr., Allen Rouse and Rossie Willis. Honourary pallbearers will be grandson Robert Donaldson, George Mayes, Walter Kutz, Allen Hayes and Leonard Williams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' memory to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, or to Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1.
