MIKE WASHNUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Washnuk, aged 79, on April 15, 2007. Left to mourn are his loving wife Marion, their son Richard and wife Susan, grandsons, Michael and Daniel, extended family and so many special friends. He was Big Mike to almost all who knew him. An avid sports enthusiast, some of his proudest moments came playing and coaching baseball for the Morse Place Monarchs and the Elmwood Giants. He played hockey with the Esquire Red Wings, and was a proud founding member of the Elmwood Hardknocks Curling League. Much of Mike's youth was spent in Redditt, Ontario which held a very special place in his heart. Many happy times were spent at the cottage with the family. Mike worked with the M.L.C.C. for many years, ending his career as a store manager. Dad we will miss you dearly, but all your many stories will always remain in our memories to brighten those darker moments. In keeping with Dad's wish for a simple ceremony the family is holding a memorial celebrating his life and the many stories that made him the man we knew and loved. Knysh Funeral Home at 1020 Main St. on Friday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. will serve as our gathering place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association. Family Owned and Operated KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
