STEPHANIE JEAN SUCHAR The family of Stephanie Jean Suchar (nee Kostiw) sadly announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Pinawa Hospital at the age of 72. Stephanie will be forever missed by her loving husband Lawrence, son Warren (Rawni), daughters, Karen (Robert) and Krista (Daniel); grandchildren, Noah, Nicholas, Stephanie, Clark and Avery; and sister Veronica (George). She was predeceased by her parents, William (1975) and Caroline (1999). Stephanie was born in Winnipeg and raised in Pine Falls, MB. At the age of 11 her family moved back to Winnipeg where she completed her education and proceeded on with her career work. She met Lawrence in 1962 and they married in 1965. Shortly thereafter they moved to Pinawa, MB where she worked at Atomic Energy of Canada while her husband pursued his career in education. In 1981 they relocated to Snow Lake, MB where they spent seven wonderful years and great lasting friendships were established. In 1994 they returned to Pinawa to enjoy their retirement years. Stephanie re-established many of her previous friendships and spent much time welcoming newcomers and assisting them to enjoy all that Pinawa has to offer. At home she spent countless hours of her leisure time designing, planting and tending to her beautiful flower garden. She enjoyed long walks along the riverside trails, observing nature at it's finest and exchanging pleasantries with others along the way. Stephanie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to ensuring she was there for them at all times. To each she was their biggest fan, providing inspiration, guidance and encouragement. She was a tireless volunteer in her community, especially in providing support for those in need. She had a special gift for comforting and encouraging persons during their difficult times. When talking to Stephanie you always knew she was sincere; she saw the best in everyone. She was a joy to be around and never one to complain. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Spence, Dr. VanGend and all the staff at the Pinawa Hospital for their compassionate care, love and support during her stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the CancerCare Unit of the Pinawa Hospital, Box 220, Pinawa, MB R0E 1L0. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church in Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Fr. Mirek Szynal presiding.
