Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJENNIFER DOONE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Doone, on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the age of 42. Jenny passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by those of us who loved her. As a partner, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend, Jenny has left a legacy of affection and generosity that will not be forgotten. Profoundly affected by her passing is her long-time partner and friend, Tony Buchner, her mother Verna Sirjoo, her brothers and sisters, Raheem, Haneefa (Parish) and her daughter Jennifer, Ali, Afzal (Tammy) and his children, Daniel, Cameron and Sage and Abe. Also left to mourn her passing are her sister-in-law, Ruth-Anne Craig, her brother-in-law, Leo O'Rourke, and his children, Zane and Marla, Jenny's nephew and niece. She was predeceased by her younger sister Alyja Mirand in 1995. Jenny touched many people during her life and made friends easily. Her presence will be missed by many. Jenny was born in Winnipeg on September 22, 1964, and, except for a brief period when her family moved to the North, lived most of her life here. During her school years she attended Earl Grey Elementary, Arthur A. Leach Junior High, Fort Richmond Collegiate and Tech Voc, where she graduated in 1983 from the Culinary Arts Program. She also attended the University of Winnipeg, where she pursued her interest in anthropology and archaeology. Jennifer was a highly artistic and creative individual, excelling in art, music and writing. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed gardening. She possessed an adventurous spirit and loved travelling. As a youth, she spent many summers working on archaeological digs, a passion of her life. She had many gifts and talents, among them an incredible ability to sew and cook. To say that she was a culinary artist would be an understatement. Jenny could literally transform the simplest and scarcest of ingredients into a gourmet meal. In this area she was unsurpassed. She was a compassionate individual, always thinking of others above herself, and her generosity was witnessed by many persons during her life. She was an intellectual thinker, and possessed a quick wit and great sense of humour, which we will all deeply miss. She shared her love of learning with others, especially her nephews and nieces, who she adored. A celebration of Jenny's life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road. Service will terminate at the chapel. Cremation to follow. Honourary pallbearers will be Raheem Mohammed, Ali Mohammed, Afzal Mohammed, Abe Mohammed, Leo O'Rourke, Cameron Craig, and Zane Mirand-O'Rourke. In honour of Jenny's lengthy tenure as a volunteer at Winnipeg Harvest those wishing to donate a non-perishable food item can drop off a contribution at Green Acres Funeral Chapel.
