SOPHIE DUDAR It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Sophie Dudar at the Arborg and District Health Centre, on April 18, 2007, at the age of 83. Sophie leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Stanley (Darlene), Ernest and Melvin (Gloria); daughters, Diana (Peter) and Sylvia (Gary); grandchildren, Merle, Sharon, Barry, Shauna, Curtis, Glen, Shelly, Cory, Tammy, Darren, Stuart, Crystal, Dal and Robbie; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Michael; daughter Mildred; parents, Myrion and Mary Balayewich; and sisters, Helen Lucyk and Stella Asmus. Sophie was born in Poland on April 22, 1923 and came to Canada at age four. She and Michael were married and resided in Malonton for the first few years of marriage. They later moved to the Arnes area where they lived and farmed the rest of their lives. Sophie entertained the hope set out in the Bible at Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry, nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Mr. Tom Read officiating. Her pallbearers will be Freddie, Blair, Darren, Cory, Robbie and Dal. If friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Children's Wish Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
