EICHI GEORGE ODAGUCHI 1918 - 2007 Peacefully passed away at Grace Hospital on April 17, 2007 at the age of 88. Leaves to mourn his passing, son David (Lidia); sister Yae Nakano (Jon); brother Tetsuo, Ted (Atsumi); brother-in-law Dr. Joe Hayakawa (Jane); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Noriko, Nori (nee Hayakawa) l971, father Yoichiro 1947, mother Fumi 1972 and sister Hisaye Si 1983. George was born October 29, 1918 in Haney, BC, now Maple Ridge, and was interned to rural Manitoba in 1942 to work on the sugar beet farms which was the plight of many Japanese Canadian families during the Second World War. He also worked in the saw mills in the Thunder Bay area during and after the war and returned to Winnipeg to work in construction and the millwork trade until his retirement. His hobbies were puttering around his house which he kept in mint condition, gardening and pursuing financial investment opportunities. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital who made his stay comfortable. Thanks to management and friends at The Westhaven, where he enjoyed participating in the choir, daily exercise sessions and friendships during the past four years.
