HELEN JULIA KUSHNER 1914 - 2007 Helen Kushner (nee Lewis) passed away peacefully on April 20, 2007 at West Park Personal Care Home just two months shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born in Winnipeg June 15, 1914, the youngest child of Julia and Albert Lewis. Mourning her passing are nieces, Valerie and Elaine (David) and their three children as well as her husband Fred's cousins, nieces, and friends. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred (1987), father Albert (1948), mother Julia (1959), sister Anna (1984), brother Joseph (1985), sister-in-law Margaret (1990), brother Frank (1991), brother Bernard (2004), sister-in-law Julia (2005) and friend Max Shelton (2002). Helen was always very independent with a lively mind and warm sense of humour. She was a great homemaker devoted to making healthy meals not only for Fred and herself but for her mother in her declining years. She was always interested in doing hand work and because of her patience and talent produced many beautiful and very fine petit point and needlepoint pictures. She also enjoyed collecting unique articles from many different countries. Thanks and appreciation to Drs. Shiela Domke and Barry Campbell and Mysore for their care. John and Elsie Propp for their help and visits. Very special gratitude to Rev. Jessie Kehler for her spiritual guidance, along with her husband Larry for their help, their visits and especially their friendship. Thanks also to the discussion group led by Donna Freeman for their many years of friendship. Helen always told us she enjoyed her stay and appreciated the care given to her at West Park Manor. If friends so desire donations may be made to charities of their choice. Irish Blessing to All May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Memorial Service to be held at West Park Manor, Monday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m.
