Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRIS ELIZABETH ANNIE JOHNSON (nee SIMPSON) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Iris, at the age of 93 years, at the Maples Personal Care Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Iris was predeceased by her husband George; daughter Jaqueline Anderson; sister Elsie Homes and brother Thomas Simpson. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Susan (Allan); grandchildren, Brent (Rachel), Tracy (Dale), Trigvy (Stephanie), Sandra (Kevin), Debra (Danny), and several great-grand-children. Iris Johnson was born February 12, 1914 in Middlesex, England. She came to Canada with her family at a young age. She was put in school, which she excelled at, but had to quit early to find work to help support her family. She married George in 1947, and they spent many happy years together. In their younger years they had a trailer at Winnipeg Beach where family and friends would gather. They also played many rounds of golf together. George worked at Western Paint and Iris was a Seamstress at home while looking after their daughters. They also took pride in all their grand and great-grand-children. After retirement they did a lot of travelling together. England was one of their favourite places to visit, as well as Hawaii, New Zealand, and many places in Europe. After George's death, Iris joined Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she made a lot of friends. A special thanks to Dit and John Oppeneer for being special friends to Iris, and to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their compassion and care during Iris's stay. Funeral service will be held on April 23, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2585 King Edward Street, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jan Pastucha officiating and an interment and reception will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Trigvy and Kalen Anderson, Kevin and Jeffrey Schalla, Danny Hart and Christopher Dion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Iris's memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church or charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
