MARIA SZAJEWSKI 1917 - 2007 Peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on April 19, 2007 our mom and bobça passed away at the age of 89. Predeceased by husband John (1996) and son-in-law John Isbister (2007), she is survived by her daughters, Laura Isbister and Jeanette Granger; grandson Randy Granger; granddaughter Tracy Granger (Davis Rozitis); and was anxiously awaiting the delivery of her first great-grandchild. She is also survived by her lifelong friends, Aniela and Tadek Malawski and family. She leaves a sister and brother in Poland and numerous family and friends. Born in Sluzewo, Poland, she immigrated to Canada in 1948 after the hardships of the Second World War. She settled in Winnipeg where she met John and married in 1951. She was a professional seamstress, a great cook, gardener and enjoyed cards, bowling and bingo. Thank you to the homecare workers who took care of Mom at Polish Manor and the 4th floor staff of Holy Family. You always wanted the best for your family. Thank you for everything. We love you! Prayers at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Sunday, April 22 at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue on Monday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. with interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
