CLEARWATER 1922 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who passed away on April 19, 2007. Glen is survived and will be missed greatly by his wife Bette of 64 years, children, Gary (Monica), John (Maureen) and daughter-in-law Dianne, his grandchildren, Cindy, Lauren and Allison, Tyler and Alex, Debbie, Terry and Cathy and his great-grandchildren. Glen was predeceased by his son Jim. He will be missed by many friends and extended family. Glen was born on September 27, 1922 in Saskatoon, SK. He spent many of his early years growing up in Northern Manitoba at Gods Lake and Sherridon where he met Bette. He joined the RCAF and served as a Wireless Air Gunner during the Second World War. He returned from service and hired on with the Canadian National Railway where he worked as a Locomotive Engineer, Instructor, Train Master, Master Mechanic. His railway career allowed him to live and work in Winnipeg, MB, Rainy River, ON, Edmonton and Calgary, AB, Smithers, BC, eventually retiring in 1982 at Gimli, MB as a Manager/Instructor with the CN Rail Transportation Training Centre. After retirement Glen and Bette moved to Winnipeg where he worked as a Commissionaire for several years. Glen loved to listen to music and in his early years would play guitar with his family and friends. He was an avid reader and in the past several years enjoyed his time spent on his computer with his train and flight simulators. Glen had a great sense of humour and enjoyed telling and sharing jokes. For the past eight months he lived with his son John and family. Dad enjoyed being with his family where he found comfort in their company especially being closer to his two grandsons Tyler and Alex, Ga we'll miss you . Dad passed away at home surrounded with love and care and will always be remembered for his honesty, his integrity and his caring soul. We would like to thank Dr. R. Martens and staff at Henderson Medical, Provincial Home Care, Veteran's Affairs Canada and Concordia Hospital and staff for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. In following Dad's wishes there will be no service and cremation will take place. Neil Bardal Inc. in care of arrangements.
