IRENE GREGOIRE Born February 25, 1916, in St. Boniface where she lived all her life. Predeceased by her husband Alfred (Fred) in 1964, her brother Wilfred and sisters, Pauline and Florence, she is survived by her children, Fern (Creighton), Raymond (Grace) and Monique (Daniel); seven grandchildren, Danielle and Ryan, Micheline and Christian, Rachelle, Nathalie and Sylvie and one great-grandchild Cheyenne. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Mel (Larry), Lorraine (Doug) and brother-in-law Leo Chenier as well as many nieces and nephews. A widow at a young age, she supported herself as an excellent dressmaker. Many will remember the beautiful bridesmaids' dresses she made. As well she was a tireless volunteer. For years she ran the teen dances at Notre-Dame Gym and did the bookings for the Notre-Dame Recreation Centre. She put in many hours for the St. Boniface Neighborhood Improvement Program (N.I.P.). For several years she was a member of the licensing committee for the Lotteries Commission. Thank you to Centre Taché 3ABC for all of your care and compassion shown towards our mother. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23rd at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street, with a gathering of family and friends to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centre Taché, 185 Despins Street, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2B3 or to a charity of your choice.
