MIKE ZORNIAK March 19, 1916 - April 20, 2007 After a short illness, it is with deep sadness we mourn the loss of our brother and uncle who passed away on April 20, 2007, at the age of 91. Mike was predeceased by his loving wife Carolyn; his parents; brothers, John and Harry; sisters, Ann, Mary, Kay, Sophie, Olga and Helen. He will be forever missed by his sisters, Pearl, Stella, Nellie, Sadie, Betty; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. Mike was born in Hamrlik, MB in 1916 to John and Irene. At an early age, Mike journeyed to British Columbia to work in a logging camp. On gaining experience and knowledge in the trade, he moved on to Vermillion Bay where he started his own business with his brothers. Mike's love for farming brought him back to the family homestead, where he settled and married Carolyn in 1958. Being 91 years old did not stop him from actively working his land and raising his cattle, which were his pride and joy. Mike was an intellectual thinker and possessed a quick wit and great sense of humour which we will all deeply miss. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Arborg Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion during his last days. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Hamrlik Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Hamrlik Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Noel Cheguis, Scott Cheguis, Alex Pylypowich, Ken Taplin, Ted Sumka and Bradley Sumka. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
